TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin Membrane)

TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin Membrane) roof systems have been used on just about every type of residential, commercial and industrial buildings.

Offering long-term performance with Energy saving features and odor-free installation, TPO is fast becoming the roof system of choice by many building owners, builders and architects.

We have become a leader in the installation of TPO Roofing Systems. We participate in an annual training program conducted by a leading Supplier of TPO materials to ensure all workers are properly trained in the installation of TPO roofs. Courtney Roofing Inc. ensures that all Quality Control standards are being met including:

Test cuts of heat welded seams before application of roofing.
Probing of all details at the end of each day.
Two-hour firewatch after the last heat-welded detail is completed each day.
Regular calibration of TPO and firewatch equipment.
Full Inspections of completed roof systems by the supervisor and project manager at the completion of the job.

BUR (Built-Up Roofing)

Built-Up Roofs (BUR) have been performing on buildings for generations. Commonly referred to as ‘Tar and Gravel’ roofs, they have withstood the test of time.

BUR systems generally are composed of alternating layers of bitumen (asphalt) and reinforced layers of organic or fibreglass felts. Together with a top coating of asphalt and gravel, they make up a Built-Up Roof.

Courtney Roofing Inc. has been successfully completing BUR reroofs and repairs since 1976.

If a reroof is not in the budget, Courtney Roofing Inc. can arrange a maintenance program that can add valuable years to the life of a roof.

Modified Bitumen Roofing Systems

Modified Bitumen Roofing Systems are an excellent alternative to TPO roofing and BUR roofing. Typically installed in two-ply systems, the base sheet (first ply) can be either fastened, mopped in hot asphalt or adhered with cold adhesive. The Cap Sheet (second ply) has a built-in granular surface to provide long term protection against the elements. We have successfully completed all types of Modified Bitumen Roofs.
